aluminum profiles

Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat and electricity, so it is the most commonly used material in major power lines.

Aluminum parts can be joined by welding, soldering, adhesive gluing and riveting.

Aluminum has good pressure resistance.

Its modulus of elasticity is three times smaller than that of steel ( E = 70 GPa ).

Aluminum has a relatively high coefficient of linear expansion compared to other metals. This should be taken into account during the design phase to avoid possible differences.

Aluminum is non-toxic and therefore very suitable for food preparation and storage.

*****

To increase the productivity, functionality and productivity of the profiles, it is necessary to follow some basic design rules:

  • Wall thickness - the reduction of the wall cannot be unlimited. It depends on the shape of the profile and the size of the circle described around it. The same wall thickness ensures easier extrusion.

  • Rounded Shapes - For better performance and longer matrix life, it is important to plan rounded shapes. All edges must be rounded at least  R 0.5.

  • Symmetry - the symmetry of the profile is recommended for good balance of the tool during extrusion.

  • Simplify the shape and reduce the number of holes - simple shapes with fewer holes are recommended for extrusion. Solid profiles have higher productivity.

  • Decorative lines - defects, scratches and traces of extrusion can be hidden by using decorative lines.
